Conrad Kersting studied architecture at RWTH Aachen University and at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio (CH), where he graduated in the studio of Prof. Jan de Vylder in 2017. After several internships in germany and abroad, he worked as an architet at Diener & Diener Architekten in Basel from 2017 to 2019 and at Jaeger Koechlin Architects from 2019 until 2020, where he was responsible for numerous competitions and studies. Since 2020, he has been working on his own projects and competitions in changing collaborations. He is an active member of Countdown 2030, an association founded in Basel that promotes a sustainable building culture. From 2020 to 2022, Conrad was a teaching assistant at the Chair for City and Housing headed by Prof. Christian Inderbitzin (EMI) at KIT. Since January 2022, he has been a research assistant at the Chair of Architectural Theory, at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (gta), ETH Zurich. From 2023 to 2024 Conrad was part of the collective visiting professorship of Countdown2030 at the FHNW Basel. In 2024 he published «Hammer 1» together with Marius Slawik. The book reconsiders the first work by Diener & Diener Architects as a key work of swiss architecture during a period marked by transitions and renegotiations. In 2025, Conrad was appointed as lecturer for architectural analysis, design, and construction at FHNW Basel, where he will lead the design studio in the third-year bachelor's course.
